Launch of the new TechXchange Academy in Madrid




We are pleased to announce the official opening of the TechXchange Academy in Madrid on Friday 28th March. 

The Academy is based in our Tyco FPP premises which also hold various offices, warehouse and a gas-refilling station.

A mix of more than 40 customers and visitors from Spain and the Southern region were welcomed by various European and Spanish Tyco Management and colleagues.


A ribbon cutting by Vicente Mans, President of Technifuego AESPI, Spanish Fire Protection Association officially opened the new TechXchange Training Academy, he stated, “I am pleased to have been invited to open the TechXchange Academy; this small scissor represents a big step in the education and development of the Fire Protection industry in Spain, which we are very proud of”.


During the day an overview of the practical and theory based training courses available from the TechXchange Training Academy was provided, leaving visitors with a comprehensive view of the facilities and services(including our gas refilling station) provided by Tyco Fire Protection Products.


The TechXchange Academy is the ideal way to share our industry leading expertise with our customers and for them to get up to speed with the latest training courses. We will be running a full schedule of programmes in 2014, including technical, educational theoretical and handson sessions for our Sprinklers, Sprinkler Alarm Valves, Gaseous Suppression Systems, Restaurant Fire Suppression Systems, Fire Detection and Alarm range and Care Communication.

·                12m² spray Cold Spray Demonstration capabilities for Sprinklers, Nozzles and Low Pressure Watermist

·                Yearly planned activities: > 50 sessions, >300 Trainees, in > 35 different courses


A handbook providing details about the Training Center, travel, accommodation and how to book the training sessions is currently being worked on and will be available shortly.


The Madrid Facility is part of our EMEA Training Strategy where we are aiming to be close to our customers and serve them with training and education to upgrade fire protection knowledge in the industry and ensure that our systems are designed, installed and maintained according Tyco standards. Other TechXchange academies in EMEA supporting this approach are located in Enschede, Goteborg and Manchester, with a new training centre soon to launch in Dubai and another one in early stages of planning in Rodgau.
